Run Google Ads first if people already search for what you sell. Run Meta Ads first if they do not know you exist yet. A dentist in Noida Sector 62 should start with Google Ads, because people search for a dentist near them. A ₹12,000 skincare brand with no search demand should start with Meta Ads and create the demand that search cannot capture.
That rule covers most Delhi NCR small businesses. The rest of this article is about the money, because the Meta Ads vs Google Ads argument is not really about which platform is cheaper. They are not priced the same way, and comparing average cost per click gets you nowhere.
Start with ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh a month of total ad budget, split 70/30 toward whichever platform matches your demand, and put ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 of that into management. Below ₹40,000 a month, running both platforms properly is not realistic. You will get two badly managed accounts instead of one that works.
What each platform costs in Delhi NCR
The Meta Ads vs Google Ads cost comparison looks lopsided until you get to lead quality.
| Meta Ads | Google Ads | |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | cost per thousand impressions | cost per click |
| Typical Delhi NCR rate | ₹80 to ₹220 CPM | ₹12 to ₹90 CPC |
| Minimum spend worth managing | ₹15,000 a month | ₹25,000 a month |
| Agency retainer | ₹15,000 to ₹40,000 | ₹15,000 to ₹40,000 |
| Reliable cost per lead | 3 to 6 weeks | 4 to 8 weeks |
| Lead intent | lower, needs follow-up | higher, already shopping |
(These are 2026 observations from accounts we run in Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon. Your category will move them. Interior design and immigration queries on Google clear ₹40 to ₹90 a click; a local service business can still buy clicks at ₹12 to ₹25.)
What the difference actually is
Google Ads buys demand that exists. Someone types “AC repair Noida” and your ad answers a question they were already asking. Intent is high, click prices are high, and the work is mostly about not wasting money on the wrong queries.
Meta Ads creates demand. Nobody scrolls Instagram hoping to find a pest control service. You show a problem, a before and after, or an offer, and the click comes from interest rather than need. Clicks are cheaper and the follow-up burden is heavier.
That difference decides more outcomes than any bidding setting. Businesses that cannot follow up quickly lose money on Meta, because low-intent leads need a call within the hour. Businesses with weak differentiation lose money on Google, because clicking your ad next to four competitors is easy.
What ₹25,000, ₹50,000 and ₹1 lakh a month look like
At ₹25,000 a month, pick one platform. On Google, that budget buys roughly 400 clicks at an average ₹60 CPC in a competitive Delhi category, or around 180 leads if 45% of clicks convert to an enquiry. On Meta, the same money buys roughly 150,000 impressions at ₹170 CPM, which in a tight Delhi NCR audience produces 400 to 700 clicks and 30 to 80 leads, depending on how good the creative is.
At ₹50,000 a month, one platform gets serious. Google starts producing consistent cost per lead, and Meta has room for two or three creative concepts per month, which is the minimum for the testing to mean anything.
At ₹1 lakh and above, run both, but not with the same message. Google captures the searches you already lose. Meta builds the audience that will search for you in three months. The 70/30 split should follow whichever is producing a cheaper cost per qualified lead, reviewed monthly.
Which to run first, by business type
- Clinics, dentists, physiotherapists, diagnostics: Google first. People search with urgency and location.
- Restaurants and cafes: Meta first, for footfall and offers. Google only if you compete on delivery searches.
- Interior designers, modular kitchens, architects: both, with Meta for inspiration and Google for “interior designer near me” and “modular kitchen cost” queries.
- Real estate: Meta for project launches and site visits, Google for project-name searches. Split near even.
- Coaching and test prep: Google first, and be careful, because you are bidding against national brands with deeper pockets.
- D2C products under ₹2,000: Meta first, almost always. Search volume on a new product name is close to zero in year one.
- B2B services and industrial suppliers: Google first. Nobody discovers an industrial supplier on Instagram.
- Wedding photography, event services, salons: Meta first, with Google built around your brand name and locality.
The mistake both platforms punish
Running cheap campaigns and calling it testing. ₹5,000 a month across four ad sets produces numbers too thin to read, and after three months the account has no learning and no clear winner. Meta needs roughly 50 conversions per ad set before its optimiser settles. Google needs enough clicks to distinguish a bad keyword from a bad landing page, which usually lands at ₹30,000 to ₹50,000 of cumulative spend in a Delhi category.
The other mistake is judging creative by what the owner likes. Meta ad performance has little to do with production quality. A phone-shot UGC video of a customer complaining about the problem usually beats a studio shoot, and it costs nothing to test. Meta’s business help centre carries the current creative specifications if you are cutting assets in-house, and Google’s Google Ads help explains how bidding strategies behave before you commit real budget to one.
Questions owners ask
Which is better for a small business in Delhi, Meta Ads or Google Ads?
Google Ads for anything people actively search for, Meta Ads for anything they do not. If you sell a service in a city, Google usually wins first. If you sell a product nobody is searching for yet, Meta does. Settle the Meta Ads vs Google Ads question by looking at what your customers type into a search box, not at which dashboard you find easier to read.
Is Meta Ads cheaper than Google Ads?
Per click, yes, usually by 3 to 5 times. Per qualified lead, often not, because Meta leads convert at a lower rate. Compare your cost per qualified lead after 60 days, not your cost per click.
Can I run both with ₹30,000 a month?
Not properly. One platform, one account, one clear result. Add the second once the first produces a stable cost per lead for two consecutive months.
How long before I see results?
Meta settles in 3 to 6 weeks with enough creative volume. Google takes 4 to 8 weeks, mostly because search term data needs volume before it tells you anything useful. Anyone promising leads in week one is selling a feeling.
Do I need an agency for either?
No, if you have 4 to 6 hours a week and will actually review search terms and creative. Most owners quit that routine by month three, which is when waste grows quietly. Agency retainers for either platform sit at ₹15,000 to ₹40,000 a month, and our Meta Ads retainer guide breaks down what that fee covers.
Where this sits in the wider mix
Paid channels do a specific job. If you sell a considered purchase, our comparison of SEO against Google Ads covers when organic is the better place for the same rupee. The Meta Ads vs Google Ads split is not permanent either, so review it every quarter against your cost per qualified lead. We run both platforms for Delhi NCR clients, and the scoping process is described on the Singh Media Group services page. More breakdowns like this one are on our blog.
